Dear Fantagraphics,

My name is James Brown, and I’d like to apply for the Graphic Designer position at Fantagraphics.

I have worked in the creative field for the past twelve years in many different roles between design and illustration. The most relevant to this application would be my work with PSA Press.

At PSA, I’ve been lucky to work with many artists, brands, and institutions to create ephemera for sale or gifting. This work mostly includes recreating and altering artwork for products and using provided assets for packaging and promotion. This naturally requires working closely with artists, designers, and brand ambassadors, which allowed me to quickly learn how important it is to listen and adjust based on input without overstepping my boundaries.

I use Photoshop and Illustrator daily, and while my use of InDesign over the years has been sporadic, I am confident in my ability to be able to hop back in and become proficient quickly.
